The old saying "life begins at forty" may have been true twenty five years ago when you turned forty but now 65 is the 40. So now that you turned 65 "life began at 65", at least for you. The older we get the more precious life becomes. Senior citizens still strive to be attractive, active healthy and sociable.
Seniors citizens can feel safe with senior citizens who can truly understand, respect and share their fears and apprehensions. Know their limitations yet gain their confidence because of experience. Grand Master Chaney at 69 has a history of 23 surgeries including two major back surgeries and a total hip replacement. Because of his life in the Martial Arts he remains in much better shape and much healthier than all of his child hood friends many whom have already passed from strokes and heart attacks due to sedentary life styles. Seniors have the time, patience and the desire to train more seriously than their youthful counterparts. Senior citizens are an untapped market for most martial arts studios. However for most highly successful studios senior citizens are a significant part of their membership. Educating seniors to the benefits the Martial Arts offer is the difficult part. We encourage seniors to come try us out and find out if Martial arts is for you.
Mrs. Sarinda Chaney, altho young, says she understands seniors because she has been married to one for 9 years.

Brazilian JiuJitsu is a martial art, combat sport and a self-defense system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. The art was derived from Japanese martial art Kodokan Judo in the early 20th century. It teaches that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and superior technique-most notably joint locks and chokeholds to defeat the other person. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training can be used for sport grappling tournaments (Gi and no-Gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition or self-defense sparring (commonly referred to as 'rolling' and live drilling play a major role in training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition, in relation to progress and ascension through the grades/belts.
